8 Must-Read New Books Out on 03 January
New books hit the shelves pretty much every week, but some weeks seem to be bigger than others. Over the past few months as I’ve started to have an eye on new releases for January 2024, I noticed more than a few titles I’m super keen for were coming out on 3 January. I thought I’d share them here in case you’re looking for some summer beach reads, or perhaps have gift voucher to use at your favourite local bookshop. Check out my list below of 8 new books I’m excited to see released next week. Love, Just In by Natalie Murray Sydney TV news reporter Josie Larsen is approaching…

Mailbox Monday: 13 November
Hello! Welcome to another Monday – I can’t believe this week marks the middle of November! The year has really flown by. Things feel like they speed up once we hit November here – the weather is warmer and we are out more and then the end of year/Christmas events start. I also feel like the bookmail has sped up over the past few weeks, as I try and think about gift guides and recommendations and summer reading. Today I’m joining some fellow bloggers over at Mailbox Monday and sharing four books that have arrived in my mailbox over the past week or so. These are all titles I’ve had…

I Can’t Wait for… Dark Heir by C.S. Pacat
Back in September of 2021 I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of a brand new dark fantasy YA novel, Dark Rise by Australian author C.S. Pacat. As I said in my review at the time, this book completely blew my mind. I have thought of it often since I read it and have been hanging out for the sequel to arrive, and it is finally time! Dark Heir is being released next week, on 14 November and I am so excited. Last month I reread Dark Rise in preparation for Dark Heir coming out, and honestly it thrilled me just as much the second time around! I…

Mailbox Monday: 30 October
Hello and happy Monday everyone! I’ve had a run of lovely bookmail lately, which is both exciting and perfectly timed since I’m starting to work on some gift guides. One title that arrived last week that I’m particularly pleased to have in my hands is The Rest is History by Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook. I love Tom and Dominic’s podcast (also called The Rest is History) – it’s our regular commute listen, and we always find it super entertaining as well as educational. In fact, I’m such a fan that I’ve booked tickets to see the guys on their tour through Australia in November. Naturally I was thrilled to…

I can’t wait for… 3 upcoming novels from Canberra authors
Tonight I’m joining in with Can’t-Wait Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read, and sharing three upcoming novels I’m super excited about that are all coming soon from Canberra authors. Kill Your Husbands by Jack Heath Three couples, friends since high school, rent a luxurious house in the mountains for an unplugged weekend of drinking and bushwalking. No internet, no phones, no stress. On the first night, the topic of partner-swapping comes up. It’s a joke – at first. Not everyone is keen, but an agreement is made. The lights will be turned out. The three…

I don’t think it is any secret around here that I love Sophie Green’s books – I’ve raved about them plenty in the past. So naturally I was excited when it was announced that she had a new book coming out again this year, and thrilled when I was invited to be part of a blog/bookstagram tour to celebrate the new release – Weekends with the Sunshine Gardening Society. Currently Reading: Happy Place by Emily Henry
I tend to avoid super buzzy books from not Aussie authors, but there has just been so much hype around Emily Henry’s new release, Happy Place, and the reviews I had been seeing were all not only really positive, but also genuinely made it sound like just the kind of sweet cosy read I would enjoy and I couldn’t resist picking it up. Well, I’m a little over halfway through and I have to admit that the reviews were right. I really am loving this one. The split timeline letting us see Harriet and Wyn’s love story develop and eventually fall apart in the past as they are thrown back…

Currently reading :: The Last Sorceress by Bonnie Wynne
I love an epic fantasy saga and one of my favourites over the past few years is the story of Gwyn, protagonist of Bonnie Wynne’s The Price of Magic series. I’ve been along for the (wild) ride with Gwyn from the very first book, The Ninth Sorceress, and this month the fifth and final book in the series – THE LAST SORCERESS – was released. I’ve picked it up this week and am so happy to be back in Gwyn’s world (I’m kind of in denial about this being the final book!). Biggest congrats to Bonnie on this latest release, and thanks so much – as always – to the…
