Friday Favourites :: 5 August

We’ve had a really quiet week here – it has been wet and wintry and I’ve kind of just wanted to hibernate!

One of my favourite thinks this week was catching up with my lovely friend Holly from The Hole Solution for a mending morning at a local cafe. It was the most miserable, cold, wet morning but we were in a warm cosy pace and honestly it was the loveliest way to spend a morning (I mean, look how cosy in the photo!)

I didn’t have any mending along, but I did take my new crochet project, which I am kind of madly in love with. My daughter has picked the colours (from KnitPicks) and I’m using a beautiful, free pattern – the Dune blanket – from the Attic 24 blog. The shell pattern is so pretty, and working up pretty quickly, and I really am loving it.

I have had lots of time to stitch in the evenings, as we’re been glued to the Commonwealth Games in the evenings. Honestly I always get so sucked into all of this stuff. I will watch literally any of the events and enjoy them all.

Something else I enjoy is a bit of a theme dinner, so we went for a very English Sunday roast, using this slow cooker pot roast recipe from RecipeTin Eats. I have never had a pot roast before, and was sceptical, but is was so good!

I hope your week was lovely!
