Friday Favourites :: 1 April

I think I mentioned when I posted about reading Bitter Greens that I had booked a virtual writing course on plotting and planning with Kate Forsyth – one of my absolute favourite authors. We had our first session this week, and honestly, spending a couple of hours on Monday night listening to Kate talk about her writing process was just like a dream come true. I booked the course through the Australian Writers’ Centre, and it is two zoom sessions over two weeks. The session was so well organised – there were slides we could access to print out ahead of the class if we wanted, and lots of help to get set up and logged in on the night. I would absolutely do another class with the AWC (in fact, I have my eye on another Kate runs later in the year).

In terms of the content, like I mentioned above it was just fantastic. The course was well structured and informative and entertaining, and I was blown away by how generous Kate was with both her time and the way she shared her own experience. It was just so good!
I’m pretty sure I haven’t stopped talking about it all week, and was looking forward to the second session pretty much as soon as we finished with the first!

I hope you’ve done something fin to make you smile this week too!
