What’s your kid reading :: October

My seven year old is loving reading more that ever right now, and I thought it would be fun to share what’s she’s reading (especially since the covers coordinate so well haha).

Me, Microbes & I by Phillip Bunting
My daughter ADORES reading nonfiction – she is always picking up something fact-filled and telling us all about what she learned. With all the talk of viruses and vaccines right now she has had a lot of questions. I was hoping that this one would help with some of that, and it has been absolutely perfect! Alongside the info about viruses, it covers bacteria and other kinds of microbes, as well as getting into how these infect hosts, immune system ‘helpers’, the importance of hygiene and lots more, with humour and fun.

Worst Week Ever: Monday by Eva Amores and Matt Cosgrove
I preordered this one when it was announced because I just knew it was going to be great fun. My daughter picked it up as soon as it arrived and took it to bed to read last night – then kept running out to share her highlights with us. Definitely a hit so far!

Rainbow Grey by Laura Ellen Anderson
The cover on this one really caught my eye, and we love Anderson’s Amelia Fang so I couldn’t resist! My daughter has been absolutely loving reading this aloud with her dad – they’ve almost finished and both told me it’s great.

I always love hearing what other people’s kids are reading – do share if you have any recommendations in the comments!
