Hello! Here we are, a little over halfway through September! This has been a big week – last week of term 3 for my 7 yr old, and week 5 of our lock down, which has been extended for 4 more weeks. I’m still finding it tricky to get into a reviewing routine, but I have been reading loads! The first 14 entries for the Aurealis category I’m judging arrived this week, and it has been exciting to see what’s coming in and get stuck into some of that reading.
I already touched a bit on this earlier in the week when I popped up a mini review of The Deep End, but one of my favourite things about this week has been Australian Reading Hour, which was held on Tuesday. It’s true that I read for at least an hour most days, but I do still love a special reading occasion, AND it was so lovely to see so many people in my timeline so openly celebrating books and reading.
Another fun feature of Australian Reading Hour is the special edition novellas that are released. You’ve seen The Deep End here already, and I managed to add two more of this year’s titles during the week – Big Universe and The Missing Cup – these are both on our school holiday reading list!
Hope you’ve managed to squeeze in some reading this week too!
