Friday Favourites :: 30 April

It has been a huge week here friends – since last Friday I have celebrated my birthday, been antiquing and tea-sniffing at Dirty Jane’s and the Tea Garden Co Studio, seen the Botticelli to Van Gogh exhibition at the National Library of Australia, and tonight I’m preparing for a day in Sydney at the Writers’ Festival tomorrow. If you follow me on Instagram it might come as no surprise that my favourite thing this week was our mini reading retreat birthday weekend at the gorgeous Hold Cottage in Gunning.

There is not really much I can say about our stay at Hold except that it was absolutely divine. We (my husband and my 7 year old and I) each packed a bunch of books, plus a few board games and our paints/sketchbooks, and off we went for a few days away from home. We were away for two nights, from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning, and we honestly spent most of the time reading and drinking coffee, and falling in love with the gorgeous setting. I’ve popped a bunch of photos below so you can get a feeling for how lovely it was. One of my favourite things about the cottage was the way it was full of pieces and products from local and regional small businesses. The 7 year old loved the swing and the fire pit (or marshmallows haha).

If you happen to have the opportunity to book your own stay at Hold I can’t recommend it highly enough!
