KIDLIT :: Thank you for Feeding Freckle :: Cheyney McDonnell
The team at Five Mile Books got in touch with me recently to ask if they could send some books for A and I to review. Obviously we jumped at the chance – they publish some of the most beautiful kids books out there! A package arrived from them on Monday – perfect timing as it was the first day of the school holidays – and we were actually a bit blown away by their generosity. There were so many beautiful books in the box! We honestly loved every single one, so I’ll be sharing some reviews of them here over the next few weeks.
The first gorgeous Five Mile book we’re reviewing is Thank You for Feeding Freckle by Cheyney McDonnell.
This is an interactive book filled with flaps and imaginative ways for kids to be part of the story, for instance by finding the door key by lifting the pot plant flap.

We both got a total kick out of this. It is beautifully presented with a hard cover and lovely thick pages, and the illustrations are really bright and bold – it has kind of a Miffy vibe. I thought A might be too old for it (she is nearly seven) but she absolutely loved it and had a lot of fun following the instructions on each page for what to do next. I think it’s a perfect book to spark a little cat lovers imagination!
