Book stack :: National Reconciliation Week

It’s National Reconciliation Week this week, and this year Reconciliation Australia is inviting all Australians to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories, to share that knowledge and help us grow as a nation.

This year’s celebrations focus on the telling of (and of course listening to) stories and ask us “Don’t Keep History a Mystery”. With a central theme of storytelling I wanted to share a mini stack this week of some of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories on my TBR pile.

Sister Heart :: Sally Morgan

The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf :: Ambelin Kwaymullina
Nukkin Ya :: Phillip Gwynne

Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia :: edited by Anita Heiss
Terra Nullius :: Claire G Coleman

I’d love to hear about some of your favourite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors and books – please leave recommendations in the comments!
