    ICYMI :: January Wrap Up

    February 1, 2022 /

    Doesn’t January just fly by? We have a couple of birthdays and school holidays, and I’m reading as much as I can for Aurealis. We were lucky enough to have my mum come and visit during January, and we went away for a weekend, and of course had our new furry babies arrive.Here’s a little wrap up of the posts I managed to share over January: FRIDAY FAVOURITES remain my favourites, even though I don’t always manage to get them posted on the actual day. I get such a lift from finding these little spots of joy in my ordinary days! 7 January – The start of the AFLW season,…

    ICYMI :: December Wrap Up

    January 2, 2022 /

    Hello! Here we are in 2022! December is always a bit of a highlight for me here on my blog because I get to talk about Christmas all month long! Here’s my wrap up of the things I’ve shared here in December… FRIDAY FAVOURITES are just my favourite. There’s no denying it has been kind of a wild ride the past 2 years, but I saw someone saying recently that hard isn’t the same as bad, and I think that’s such a good reflection on the past year for me. Things have been hard and not what we expected, but there has been no much joy and love and happiness…

    Friday Favourites :: 31 December

    December 31, 2021 /

    Friends! We made it! Since the final Friday of the year falls on NYE, I feel like it’s fitting to share a big wrap up of all of my favourites I’ve shared during the year! Sharing some of my highlights each week has really been so much fun, and definitely a habit I intend to take with me into 2022. 9 April – my hammock 16 April – cosy Autumn holidays 23 April – new tarot cards 30 April – my birthday and our weekend away at Hold Cottage 7 May I was remembering the wonderful time I had at Sydney Writers’ Festival 14 May I shared three of my…

    ICYMI :: November Wrap Up

    December 1, 2021 /

    Hello! Happy December! There was great excitement in the house today now that it’s advent calendar time! Things have started getting a bit Christmassy up here, with quite a few festive reads, especially in the second half of the month, – here’s a little wrap up of November’s posts. Friday Favourites are still going strong and still, well, my favourites. Here’s what I was loving this month: Another goal for the month was to post Christmassy things – a mix of reviews and TBRs – on Saturday… And then I had one more post – a review of the Ollie and Bea books by Renne Treml, which my daughter has…

    ICYMI :: October Wrap Up

    November 1, 2021 /

    Hello! All of a sudden it is November! I’m sure I say this all the time, but how did this happen?!It’s definitely starting to feel a bit Christmassy up in here – as you can maybe tell from my photo haha. I’ve been rotating through my Christmassy mugs on Fridays this month, and have been loving it! I feel like we lost it a bit in October – I think going back to school for those last three weeks of remote learning after holidays really took it out of us, and then being actually back at school and having restrictions lift was weird too. You can see this a bit…

    ICYMI :: September wrap up

    October 2, 2021 /

    Hello! It’s October! Hands up if you can’t believe it!I feel like my photo there looks deceptively autumnal with those muted browns and yellows, but focus on the springiness of those tulips! I haven’t really had a chance to check out any of the Floriade displays around the city, being that we are still in lockdown, but I did enjoy seeing these when I went for my vaccination.September was a pretty busy month here, so I’m going to jump right in with my wrap up.Let’s start with FRIDAY FAVOURITES, because they are so much fun! Here are some of the things that made me smile in September: 3 September –…

    ICYMI :: August Wrap Up

    September 1, 2021 /

    Hello! Happy September and welcome to spring! I do love winter, but I can’t deny that I’m looking forward to the days getting longer and just a bit warmer. We had the most glorious weather today – a top of about 23 and sunny – and we spent most of the day in the backyard. We’re heading into September in lockdown – it has been three weeks so far, and we have at least two weeks to go. We’ve been coping ok, and I’m mostly focusing on the positives – the extra time we get to spend together, not needing to be anywhere, and making extra efforts to reach out…

    ICYMI :: July Wrap Up

    August 1, 2021 /

    Hello and happy August! There’s something about changing the calendar (I totally still have a proper calendar hanging on my wall!) over to August that really makes me feel like we’ve turned the corner into the slide to the end of the year (which is wild right? There’s still so much year to go!). July was another weird month, with other states in and (mostly) out of lock downs around us, back to school for term 3, and a lot more wet weather than i can remember for some time! August is looking like a fab month books/reading-wise – there are so many great titles coming out all the time…

    ICYMI :: June Wrap Up

    July 6, 2021 /

    Can you believe it’s July already? We’re past the halfway mark of the year, on school holidays, just back from a week visiting my family for the first time in a while, and enjoying a week of lovely Canberra winter weather (frosty nights and cold clear sunny days – my fave!). I know not everyone is a fan of winter but there is something about the end of June/start of July that just makes me feel more like myself – like I can stretch out and take up space and just enjoy myself. Perhaps it’s that we’re past all the business of birthdays and Easter and all the things we…

    ICYMI :: MAY Wrap Up

    May 30, 2021 /

    There’s just something about May that makes it not my favourite month. Every year I feel like it’s kind of a challenge to get through . There are a few specific personal things/dates about the month that always sneak up on me, but also I think we have so much going on with summer and birthdays and a new school year and Easter in the first four months of the year and then all of a sudden it’s May and it’s getting cold and I kind of panic that we are sort of almost halfway through the year and WHERE HAS IT GONE. I also tend to find myself with…

My daughter and I picked a pair of YA titles to earn our LYBD personal penguin 🐧📚 - I've been looking forward to getting my hands on @margot.mcgovern's Our Dark Unravelling, and my daughter spotted Augusta Pine Does not exist by Emily Lloyd-Jones which happens to have a cover that matches nicely with Margot's cover 💙💖
I hope you had a chance to get out to your fave book shop if you have one nearby - I'd love to hear if you were able to pick up a bookish treat for yourself too!
