Christmassy :: Q&A :: Mel from A Cosy Reader Designs

    December 9, 2021 /

Tonight I’m delighted to be chatting with my friend Mel from A Cosy Reader Designs. Mel makes gorgeous stationery and other goodies for book lovers (like that gorgeous mug in the photo there!). She also hosts a really sweet Twitch channel where she streams craft and reading session (I’ve raved about her Twitch a bit here and here). I’m super excited to have Mel here on the blog for a Christmassy chat today. Hey Mel! Thanks so much for joining me to talk Christmas and books today! To start with, could you please tell us a little bit about your business and what inspired you to start it? A Cosy…

Christmassy :: Q&A :: Cheyenne from The Little Flame Co.

    December 5, 2021 /

Last year I ran a little series on my blog of Christmas themed Q&As with authors and small business owners, and I enjoyed it so much that I had to bring it back this year. Starting tonight I’ll be posting a new chat every couple of days with authors of books we’ve enjoyed this year, and the people behind some of my favourite small businesses. Just to be clear, none of this content is sponsored. Some of the books I will have received free copies of for review (I’ll always let you know in the post), and all of the items I’ll feature from small businesses are things I have…

Christmassy :: Q&A :: Mikhaila from Tea Garden Co.

    December 18, 2020 /

I’m super excited to have Mikhaila from Tea Garden Co here on my blog tonight to talk a bit about books, Christmas, and – natch – tea. I’ve been a Tea Garden Co. fangirl for quite some time now (as my tea collection will attest!). For people who might not have come across your beautiful teas before, could you please tell us a bit about Tea Garden Co, and what inspired you to start it?  Well Tea Garden Co was my out from a job that wouldn’t give me a promotion, ha! – Sounds crazy but I wanted to do more and there just wasn’t any room for growth. So…

I had a little practice run and, though the Hyatt hightea will be lusher than this I can confirm this gorgeous book pairs perfectly with scones and a cuppa!
Tickets for this event we're almost all snapped up, last I heard, but there is plenty of bookish fun to be had across the whole weekend at the festival (including some great events on Friday night!) so pop over and check the program if you haven't already booked! 📚

We spent a lovely morning in the sunshine outside @thebookcowkingston for a gorgeous event celebrating @gabrielletozer's latest picture book TINY GOOD THINGS ✨💜 It is such a beautiful book, and it was also a wonderful excuse to catch up with loads of friends, including @emmagreyauthor and @aussie_kids_books - both of whom I managed to snap here.
My daughter and I picked a pair of YA titles to earn our LYBD personal penguin 🐧📚 - I've been looking forward to getting my hands on @margot.mcgovern's Our Dark Unravelling, and my daughter spotted Augusta Pine Does not exist by Emily Lloyd-Jones which happens to have a cover that matches nicely with Margot's cover 💙💖
I hope you had a chance to get out to your fave book shop if you have one nearby - I'd love to hear if you were able to pick up a bookish treat for yourself too!
