    Friday Favourites :: 10 September

    September 10, 2021 /

    The favourite I’m sharing tonight is actually tonight – it’s Cosy Reading Night, hosted by the fabulous Lauren from Lauren and the Books! I’ve posted about Cosy Reading Night a few times before (I’ve been joining in since 2016!) – I just love it! I think a night dedicated to cosiness and reading is a dream come true haha. Lauren is such a fantastic fun ‘host’, and it’s always lovey to see what she has planned. This time around my partner and daughter both joined in too. We ordered in burrito bowls for dinner, and had hot chocolate later in the night, and a rainy library ASMR on the tv.…

    Book stack :: Dewey’s Oct :: tbr

    October 27, 2019 /

    I had all intentions of participating – at least some of the time – in the Dewey’s 24-hour Readathon. And of posting about my tbr on Friday! But here we are on Sunday evening, the readathon almost over and me only just doing this post (and hardly having read at all this weekend!). Regardless, I thought it would still be fun to share the stack of books I had set aside to choose from over the weekend, since these are likely to be the next few books I read anyway. Also, re the Dewey’s Readathon, I really wish I had been able to join in more! I had so much…

    Christmassy NetGalley-athon

    October 16, 2019 /

    I don’t want to alarm anyone, but today marks only 10 weeks until Christmas!  Now I know for a lot of people it’s still way too early to be getting festive, but I feel like I need to be organised if I’m going to share reviews here – I want to make sure I’m recommending books in good time for you to get your hands on them! (And anyway, I do love any excuse to talk Christmas!) 10 weeks out seemed totally perfect timing to start a bit of a readathon – specifically of Christmassy titles I have review copies of through NetGalley! There are 10 books on my NetGalley…

    TBR :: long weekend mini readathon

    May 26, 2018 /

    I spend so much of my reading time on new release books that the things I’ve had on my TBR shelf for a bit longer often get neglected. This week we have a long weekend in Canberra, and I thought it might be fun to dedicate my reading on these three days to some of the #loveozya books I’ve been meaning to get to but keep passing by in favour of new releases.It’s the very end of autumn here, which makes for pretty perfect reading weather, and so I’m hoping to get through three books over the course of the weekend…  The three #loveozya novels I’ve chosen are all ones…

    Monday catch up

    May 15, 2017 /

    Lots of stuff happening today, so I thought I’d do a catch up post covering a bunch of bits and pieces… Made it Monday! Along with books and reading, craft is my absolute favourite. So when I came across Made It Monday on Amy Laurens’ blog I was excited to join in. These little blossoms I’ve been working on for a couple of months now, slowly in front of the tv. They are handstiched and once I have a whole lot more they will be sewn together into a quilt. The pieces for them are coming as a subscription from Tales of Cloth – you can find out more on their blog if you are interested.…

    Bout of Books 19

    May 9, 2017 /

    This morning as I was poking around some book blogs I came across the Bout of Books read-a-thon  It sounded like fun so, taadah!, here I am signing up. I’m technically a little late, since the Read-a-thon started yesterday, but thanks to time zones it isn’t too late to sign up. Here’s some information about Bout of Books from their blog: The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 8th and runs through Sunday, May 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways,…

I had a little practice run and, though the Hyatt hightea will be lusher than this I can confirm this gorgeous book pairs perfectly with scones and a cuppa!

We spent a lovely morning in the sunshine outside @thebookcowkingston for a gorgeous event celebrating @gabrielletozer's latest picture book TINY GOOD THINGS ✨💜 It is such a beautiful book, and it was also a wonderful excuse to catch up with loads of friends, including @emmagreyauthor and @aussie_kids_books - both of whom I managed to snap here.
My daughter and I picked a pair of YA titles to earn our LYBD personal penguin 🐧📚 - I've been looking forward to getting my hands on @margot.mcgovern's Our Dark Unravelling, and my daughter spotted Augusta Pine Does not exist by Emily Lloyd-Jones which happens to have a cover that matches nicely with Margot's cover 💙💖
I hope you had a chance to get out to your fave book shop if you have one nearby - I'd love to hear if you were able to pick up a bookish treat for yourself too!
