    Friday Favourites :: 10 December

    December 10, 2021 /

    Happy Friday everyone! We’re nearly halfway through our advent calendars! We’ll be opening our week 3 book on Sunday, and we put the Christmas tree up yesterday, so it really is starting to feel like Christmas! Today I wanted to share a Christmassy favourite – my top three favourite bookish Christmas mugs. I am the first to admit to being something of a mug hoarder. I just love having the right mug for every feeling and situation haha. Christmas is of course no exception. I have so many Christmas mugs that I start using them at the end of September, just so that all of them get a chance to…

    Friday Favourites :: 21 May

    May 21, 2021 /

    I’m really not sure where this week went! I feel like it was the weekend and here we are at Friday again! I’ve just started working two of my three days back in the office again, and I think maybe that extra day out of the house threw me. My favourite thing this week is also related to something that got me out of the house this week – my first watercolour class on Wednesday! I’ve been playing with watercolours for a little while now, and got a lovely little set for my birthday, and when I saw a local arts centre had a Wednesday morning class I couldn’t resist…

    Friday Favourites :: 30 April

    April 30, 2021 /

    It has been a huge week here friends – since last Friday I have celebrated my birthday, been antiquing and tea-sniffing at Dirty Jane’s and the Tea Garden Co Studio, seen the Botticelli to Van Gogh exhibition at the National Library of Australia, and tonight I’m preparing for a day in Sydney at the Writers’ Festival tomorrow. If you follow me on Instagram it might come as no surprise that my favourite thing this week was our mini reading retreat birthday weekend at the gorgeous Hold Cottage in Gunning. There is not really much I can say about our stay at Hold except that it was absolutely divine. We (my…

    A little gift guide for the bookish people in your life (who might be A mum but maybe not)

    April 29, 2021 /

    Ok, so, yes. This is a gift guide that I’m writing with Mother’s Day in mind – its on Sunday 9th May here in Australia this year – but I also appreciate that Mother’s Day isn’t everyone’s thing for a whole range of reasons. I hope though that if you do have a look at this post it might give you some inspiration from some broadly book/reading adjacent bits and pieces that would make nice gifts for the people in your life who are into those sorts of things, whether they are mums or not. None of this is sponsored, these are just 100% things that I think are lovely.…

    FRIDAY FAVOURITES :: 23 April

    April 23, 2021 /

    Hi friends and happy Friday! It feels like an extra special Friday here this week – we’re heading into a long weekend (we have Monday off) AND it’s my birthday on Sunday, and I’ve taken two extra days off next week, which since I work three days/week means I have the whole week off! It’s always nice to be staring down a bunch of time at home, especially when you don’t necessarily have anything much specific planned. And now, let me tell you about something that has been a favourite of mine this week. If you follow me over on Instagram (@bookishbron) you might have noticed that I’m interested tarot…

    Friday Favourites :: April 15

    April 16, 2021 /

    Hello friends! How has your week been? It was the second week of the school holidays here, and we had a pretty good time! Amelia and I did an all day pottery class together on Wednesday which was awesome – I’ve been keen to try out pottery since falling in love with Keith from The Great Pottery Throw Down haha. This week’s Friday favourite is a bit of an amalgamation of a bunch of things that happen to have come into alignment this week – the fact has been beautiful sunny weather during the day all week (perfect for autumn holidays) and that we have had lovely chilly mornings perfect…

    Friday Favourites :: April 9

    April 9, 2021 /

    I’ve been thinking a bit over the past few weeks about the sorts of things I’d like to share on my blog, and one thing I haven’t done much of so far this year is general bookish chatty life stuff. To help get back in the habit of logging on for a chat I thought I’d try and pop in on Fridays for a super quick post to share something that is probably at least book adjacent that I have enjoyed during the week – a Friday favourite if you’ll excuse the cheesy alliteration =) So to kick it off, if you follow me on instagram you probably won’t be…

I had a little practice run and, though the Hyatt hightea will be lusher than this I can confirm this gorgeous book pairs perfectly with scones and a cuppa!

We spent a lovely morning in the sunshine outside @thebookcowkingston for a gorgeous event celebrating @gabrielletozer's latest picture book TINY GOOD THINGS ✨💜 It is such a beautiful book, and it was also a wonderful excuse to catch up with loads of friends, including @emmagreyauthor and @aussie_kids_books - both of whom I managed to snap here.
My daughter and I picked a pair of YA titles to earn our LYBD personal penguin 🐧📚 - I've been looking forward to getting my hands on @margot.mcgovern's Our Dark Unravelling, and my daughter spotted Augusta Pine Does not exist by Emily Lloyd-Jones which happens to have a cover that matches nicely with Margot's cover 💙💖
I hope you had a chance to get out to your fave book shop if you have one nearby - I'd love to hear if you were able to pick up a bookish treat for yourself too!
